Lombardy is a region in northern Italy between the Alps and the Po river valley. It borders the Italian regions of Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Trentino-South Tyrol, as well as Switzerland.

The city has a large international airport known as Malpensa International Airport (MXP), located near the industrial towns of Busto Arsizio and Gallarate and connected to the downtown with the "Malpensa Express" railway service (from Cadorna Station).

Brescia is another important city of Lombardy: it is the second largest city in Lombardy, after the capital Milan. The ancient city of Brixia, Brescia has been an important regional centre since pre-Roman times and a number of Roman and medieval monuments are preserved, among which is the prominent castle. The tourist industry is important, given the proximity of Lake Garda, Lake Iseo and the Alps. Como is a city 45 km north of Milan very beautiful, situated on Lake Como, it is the capital of the province of Como. In recent years tourism has become increasingly important. Many celebrities have homes on the shores of Lake Como, for example Madonna, George Clooney, Versace, and Sylvester Stallone.
